In our research we aim to:
- Elucidate correlations between material composition (chemistry), atomic structure (crystallography) and material performance
- Obtain structural information on multiple length scales ranging from the Ångström to the micron scale. To achieve this, we make use of a variety of characterization techniques.
- Understand functional materials under dynamic operating conditions. Hence, we utilize operando X-ray scattering techniques, which allows us to follow changes in atomic structures while they function, e.g. within a battery during charge and discharge.
